St. Croix Tissue, Inc. presents at Down East Workforce Development Conference

Jobs for Maine Graduates (JMG) organized the first Down East Workforce Development Conference on Wednesday May 22, 2019 at the University of Maine at Machias.  135 middle and high school students from around Washington County participated in a day of workshops hosted by workforce leaders and businesses.  All of the participating businesses operate in Washington County, in hopes that students might broaden their knowledge of employment opportunities for both summer employment or permanent careers that are close to home. St. Croix Tissue, Inc. sent representatives to present a workshop educating students about the manufacturing facility in Baileyville, ME.  JMG partners with public education and private businesses to offer results-driven solutions to ensure all Maine students graduate, attain post-secondary credentials and pursue meaningful careers. They offer a continuum of support to help students transition from middle school through high school graduation, onto post-secondary education through degree attainment and connections to successful career pathways.  St. Croix Tissue, Inc. has been excited to partner with JMG in this and other endeavors this school year, supporting and empowering local youth to become future workforce contributors.
