St. Croix Tissue and Woodland Pulp attend Post Secondary Fair at Calais High School

Wednesday March 11th, 2020 – Calais High School hosted a Post Secondary fair for students in grades 7-12 this morning.  Students from Eastport, Woodland and Calais school systems attended and were able to meet with representatives from universities, workplaces, technical schools and the military to explore opportunities available to them once they graduate high school.  As Washington County’s largest employer, Woodland Pulp and St. Croix Tissue enjoyed the chance to share information about the vast number of different career options available between our two facilities.  If you are interested in career opportunities at Woodland Pulp or St. Croix Tissue, please visit: https://woodlandpulp.com/careers/ or https://www.stcroixtissue.com/careers/

The Growing Tissue Paper Industry

“In an industry where most grades of paper are facing slack demand, tissues are one of the few specialties where sales are actually climbing,” says John Williams, president of the Maine Pulp and Paper Association (as quoted in the Portland Press Herald, 3/12/14)

With today’s digital age, demand for most grades of paper products continues to drop, however, there is a steadily rising demand for toilet and tissue paper that goes with population growth.
