The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) is an international non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting Sustainable Forest Management through independent third-party certification. PEFC works throughout the entire forest supply chain to promote good practice in the forest and to ensure that timber and non-timber forest products are produced with respect for the highest ecological, social and ethical standards. St. Croix Tissue purchases all of its electricity from its sister company Woodland Pulp. 80% of this electricity comes from renewable sources in the form of and biomass fuel and hydroelectric power.

100% of the packaging materials for St. Croix Tissue's jumbo rolls are recyclable. Cores are made of wood fiber and plastic wrap/dunnage bags are high density polyethylene resin that is classified as a #2 recyclable plastic. In addition, all St. Croix Tissue cores are manufactured from 100% recycled fiber.
