St Croix Tissue and Woodland Pulp Employees attend University of Maine Pulp and Paper Foundation Paper Days

Orono, ME – The University of Maine Pulp and Paper Foundation’s Paper Days is a longstanding early April tradition that brings students, donors, pulp and paper industry leaders, employers, UMaine faculty and Foundation staff together for two days of networking and special events.  After a hiatus of in person events for the last two years due to the pandemic, the annual event was able to be held again in person on April 5-6, 2022 at the University of Maine.

Paper Days 2022 kicked off Tuesday afternoon with the Annual Board Meeting, optional tours of the UMaine Advanced Structures and Composite Center as well as the UMaine Process Development Center, and a casual social event in the evening.  Wednesday began with a panel breakfast, followed by guest speakers, industry panel discussions and a keynote luncheon. The two-day event concluded with a social hour and banquet dinner attended by all.  Marty Richard, VP of US East Operations, was honored as an incoming board member for the UMaine Pulp and Paper Foundation, beginning his term at this event.  Monique Claverie, Quality Manager at St. Croix Tissue, moderated the breakfast panel Wednesday morning featuring current UMaine students and how they’ve adapted both at school and in their co-op experiences the pandemic.
