UMaine Pulp & Paper Foundation Consider Engineering Students Visit St. Croix Tissue
Woodland Pulp, LLC and St. Croix Tissue, Inc. were happy to host 37 high school juniors on July 24th as part of their week at the UMaine Pulp and Paper Foundation’s “Consider Engineering” program. Students received a tour of the woodyard, pulp dryer, and tissue machines at the Baileyville, ME facility as well as enjoyed a Q&A session and lunch with UMaine engineering alumni who work at the facility. The UMaine Pulp & Paper Foundation’s “Consider Engineering” program is offered three times in July to groups of high school students who have completed their junior year of study and who are well-suited to becoming engineers. The four-day, free of charge, on-campus “camp” gives students opportunities to experience the rewards and challenges of both college life and technical careers. St. Croix Tissue and Woodland Pulp enjoy a longstanding and strong partnership with the UMaine Pulp & Paper Foundation. www.mainepulpaper.org
