Woodland Pulp moving forward with tissue machines, hiring

BAILEYVILLE, Maine — While the start-up of two new tissue paper machines has been put off by three months due to construction delays, the St. Croix Tissue Mill already has hired more than 70 new employees to run them, according to the company.

Woodland Pulp, an affiliate of St. Croix Tissue, had announced in March 2014 that it was adding two tissue machines and 80 jobs in a $120 million expansion at its pulp mill in Baileyville, located along the border of New Brunswick, Canada. 

Despite changes, $120M expansion at Baileyville mill remains on schedule

BAILEYVILLE, Maine — Construction to add tissue manufacturing operations at the Woodland Pulp mill has been delayed, but a company official said Monday the project still is expected to be completed on schedule as originally planned.

When company officials announced the $120 million expansion by parent company International Grand Investment Corp. in March, they said construction would begin in the spring.
